Hello
I am flying Aegean Airlines, from Rome to Athens on September 9 at 11:10. I read on a travel report website that there is a "rome airport strike" scheduled for September 9, 12-4. Should I be worried if my flight is delayed that I could be grounded? Does this airline strike affect international flights, such as mine, or just Alitalia flights? I emailed Aegean a week ago, but I have received no responses.
Hi Kathy, could you tell me where you found out the information about the strike?
We will be flying in/out of Rome on September 7th and 17th, and just wanted to make sure we won't have any possible issues......
Thanks!
When we flew into Italy a couple of years ago, there was on ongoing strike at the airports or at least the one we landed at (Florence). We didn't see any difference. No slow downs. We also learned that the airport staff were contracted from Alitalia. I'm not sure how widespread what we experienced would be.
The website is www.easytravelreport.com. It lists information on all the European countries on the left of the page, and I just scrolled down to the Italy section and read about the rome airport strike scheduled for Sept. 9. So you can just continue to check it for your upcoming trip. Most labor strikes, I believe, are planned so I would not worry about anything, unless it's on your scheduled travel date.
L-I am hoping that the airport strike only affects Italian airlines on this date, but I am just wondering if anyone knows how it works for sure.
I guess I said that wrong....i don't hope it affects anyones travel plans. I just want to know what it means for my flight.
