Hello - We are flying on United from the US into Rome FCO and are scheduled to land at 8:10 AM. We are then taking a Ryanair flight into Catania that is scheduled to depart at 13:10. From what I can tell we will be arriving in Terminal 3, collecting our luggage and then clearing customs before heading to T2 to catch our Ryanair flight (Hoping I have this part somewhat correct!?). I am wanting to get a TIM sim card for my phone at the airport. Is there a TIM store in each terminal? This is our first time to Italy and very excited!
Tt,
You will find your answer, plus other helpful suggestions about TIM and Vodafone plans, on this recent post.
Do compare Vodafone and TIM plans to determine which plan is best for you.
I purchased a Vodafone SIM card last Fall and it worked great ; it offered enough data plus plenty of international minutes so I could stay in touch with family back home.
Have a wonderful trip!
There is a TIM store (2 counters facing each other in the main corridor) in the arrivals area near the exit of terminal 3 and another in the departure area of terminal 1. Both shops are airside. There are no Vodafone stores at FCO. I'd also suggest going on line and buying a redeemable voucher for the card. I did this last November and it easy and quick (less than 20 minutes) and the cell and data service in Sicily and the rest of Italy was great. Here's a link to the TIM site.
Yes, there are TIM stores. FCO is a huge airport and has almost all of the amenities they have at the big airports in the US.
Thank you all!
