Rome airport hotel

What does "best" mean to you? Cheapest? Most people on this forum choose the on-hotel Hilton, because you can walk a few steps to an elevator that takes you directly to the check-in terminal. It's like any other Hilton, and expensive. We found the check-in lines at the hotel to be long and slow-moving. Our room had elevator noise, but it backed onto an elevator shaft. You can't change your room because the hotel is usually full. But I don't think we were wrong to choose it.

as Tim asks when is this trip planned, how many people, budget in euros, what does "best & convenience" mean, amenities needed or wanting?
hotels right at the airport will probably be expensive, first come first serve, busy/crowded with many wanting the same thing.

click filters on left side (especially airport shuttles usually with a fee & 24 hour service). check the map that have rooms available, check in 3-4pm and check out 10-11am, rooms are probably less expensive. it's your decision what best suits your fancy. good luck

Without a doubt the Hilton is the most convenient, right at the airport and next to where the Leonardo Express line ends. That convenience costs more than other hotels nearby. I found the Hilton fine, especially with an early morning flight. Booking.com can steer you to others, some will cost less, some might cost more but be fancier. Make sure the one you choose has a shuttle to the airport that works with your schedule.

We've spent more than a couple of nights in the town of Fiumicino, over the years, before and after renting a car to move onwards.
I think some people confuse airport hotels--the usual chains--with the smaller hotels that are located about a ten minute drive from those airport hotels, in the town of Fiumicino itself. We've always stayed at Hotel Seccy but Hotel Tiber gets a lot of good reports, too. Advantage is that it's a lively Italian coastal town, bustling with life and filled with good places to eat.....

Flights from USA and Canada arrive early morning in FCO; to make sure to be able to rest after the flights, many people book the hotel the night before, rather than waiting around until a 3pm check-in time. although sometimes rooms can be ready earlier due to the many early morning departures. I'm speaking here of the HOTEL SECCY. I will add that we look forward to our nights in the town and do not see this as the usual, boring airport hotel stay...

Note there there is a separate taxi line for people heading to local destinations, including Fiumicino town. It's not the main taxi queue for people heading to Rome.

We will be arriving by train from Florence one day before (a Sunday) we depart home to the USA from a 26 day vacation in Italy. We are looking for a hotel in the airport or as close to the airport as possible. The closer and simpler the better. We are hoping to step off the train and walk to the hotel without having to get on a shuttle or in a taxi. The next morning (Monday) we would like to be able to go directly from the Hotel to the airport without having to get in a shuttle or taxi. Not sure if this is at all possible. We expect to be exhausted after a long busy vacation. Thanks in advance for your inputs.

You do realize that the train from Florence will get you to Roma Termini- from there you take a taxi or the Leonardo Express to the airport.

For what you want the Airport Hilton is where you should stay. It is attached to the terminal via moving walkways- couldn't be easier.

We stayed there last October. Check in was quick- no line- into our room before check in time. Room was quiet and comfortable. We were tired so just ate at the restaurant onsite- it was fine. You have the option of walking in to the terminals for other food choices.
They packed us a very nice breakfast to take with us next morning for our very early departure..

As mentioned, you may want to check where you will be arriving from Florence compared to the airport. Roma Termini is about an hour from the Rome Airport. You could stay close to the train station and get to the airport the next day, or you have to get from the train station to the airport hotel before you can relax.

I just stayed at the Hilton at the airport for an early flight the next morning. The hotel is directly connected to FCO terminals by a covered pedestrian bridge. The walk should not take more than 8-10 minutes.
