Rome airport

Has anyone taken the train from the Rome Ciampino airport to the Rome Fuimicino airport? Is it easy? Any idea how long it takes?

From Ciampino you need a bus first because there is no train right at the airport.
Then you can:
1. Take a bus directly all the way to Roma Termini then from there you take a bus or the Leonardo express train to FCO
2. Take a bus to the Ciampino (city) train station where you catch a Regionale to Roma Termini then go to Fiumicino (see above)
3. Take a bus to the Anagnina Metro station where you catch the subway to Termini and from there you go to FCO.
Total journey time is over one hour in the best of circumstances (if all stars and planets align).

Which station?
Roma Termini is about 15 km. about 25 to 35 min depending on traffic.
The Ciampino station is extremely close to the terminal as the crow flies, but it's on the other side of the runway so either a taxi or bus have to go around the runway and the entire airport grounds perimeter. It's about 10 min ride.
