I am scheduled to return to the US from Rome, FCO. My airline ticket indicated that I will leave from terminal 3. I saw somewhere that all travelers needed to check in to terminal 5 for screening before going to the terminal the flight leaves from. Is this accurate?
Yes, that was the case when I was there a year ago. The taxi took us to 5. We went through several layers of security and then were bussed to our terminal.
It depends. You go to terminal 5 IF you are on an international flight DIRECTLY back to the states. However, if your flight is connecting to another city in Europe and then home you go to the regular terminal.
I somehow thought Terminal 5 was for US carriers flying directly to the US. So what if you're on a foreign carrier (Swiss Air) and flying back through a European city to the US?
