Try http://www.cross-pollinate.com
There seem to be a few apartments around 100 euros per night - not per person. So well within your range. Most around the Termini station area - Spanish Steps walkable, Trevi - a bit more walk

Katie, we stayed in Rome last month for a few days before and after our trip to Tuscany. We were at the Hotel Sonya which is one of Rick Steves recommended hotels. You should find that sharing a double will fit your budget. It is in walking distance of all major sights except the Vatican which will be about an 18 euro cab ride. Watch out for which side of the Termini you search for a hotel. If you are near the Opera or West from there OK but East of the Termini may be a problem. Good luck. Bill.

Your challenge is that you're looking to book a time starting ten days from now. The booking.com and venere.com sites can be filtered to show you only those places available when you need them and within a certain price range. Good luck. (And be prepared to increase your budget. $140 US per room for a couple is only 110 Euros. And Rome is expensive.)

We just spent four days at a lovely b&b Sapore di Casa in the Balduina section of Rome. It's not really within walking distance of the major sites, but had good bus/metro/FR3 connection which made getting around very easy. It was very clean, and the hosts were quite personable and helpful with our travel plans--- and a big plus in Rome this time of year they had very good airconditioning.

We paid 70 euros for the two of us. I liked being a bit away from the touristy areas and there were lovely bars and restaurants nearby.
