Would you prefer only budget Hotels, or would you consider Hostels as well? A Hostel would certainly be more cost-effective, given that you'll be staying for 3-4 weeks.

Hi, again. Nisa. Yup, with two, I'd definitely recommend the apartment route! Vacation Rentals by Owner is a good site (you deal directly with the owner - no agency). We've also had some good luck on craiglist, and so have our friends.

If you want something smaller, there were lots of other apartments on those sites from 50-70EUR a day on up. :) Happy travels!

If you mean that you are planning 3-4 weeks in Rome, then I would look into an apartment. If you want a hotel, instead, then I suggest that you find the ones you are interested in and email them with a request for a rate for the month. They may give you a better rate than the website nightly rate.

Ditto the apartment idea. We routinely rent one in Rome, no matter how long the stay, even a few days. It's like actually living there! LOL : ) It's wonderful to shop the markets and be able to cook, etc. I especially like to stay in the Campo di Fiori area, because all your needs are just steps away! Happy travels!
