Rome

Traveling to Rome for 6 days before boarding on the Island Princess for 28 day Med cruise and trans-Altantic cruise to Ft Lauderdale.

Using Gettransfer to get from Airport to our VRBO close to the Pantheon. Have Ricks Rome book. Will have to experiment with the bus system. Have been to Rome/Italy several time so understand the pickpocket tribe. Have seen most of the main sights in Rome so may get walk and mingle with the local.

Any recent Rime experiences?
Thx

Rome's bus system is the fast and efficient way to get around the city. Glad you know the lay of the land.

The area around the Pantheon is a great place to stay, and restaurants are also excellent. We were last there 6/2023.

David -- can you share some of the restaurants you enjoyed near the Pantheon? We will be staying on Via dei Coronari in a week! Can't wait!

For a moderate priced place to eat near the Pantheon, check out Miscellanea at Via della Palombella, 37, 00186. Nothing fancy, but realy good food and plenty of it. Google it and you can zero in on the location.

Yes, David, Miscellanea restaurant was the first we were going to try, listed in Rick’s Rome book. What about store in area for water, drinks, snacks, bus tickets, etc? Thx Dennis

An inexpensive, decent restaurant in the area is La Sagrestia (right near Pantheon). Not fancy but staff was nice and it’s super close to the Pantheon.

Frigidarium for gelato near Piazza Navona.

Some buses get really full and you get to know your neighbors. Have had to slap away hands plenty of times on the bus. As you know, it’s still worth it. Just be vigilant.

Enjoy Rome!
