Rome's night walk

In light of all the warnings re pickpockets, how safe is the "Rome Night Walk"? Would a solo woman be able to make the walk safely?

If you decide that you don't feel safe doing the night walk alone, you might consider a group night walk/tour for about 30 euro. It is offered by a company www.througheternity.com. I know many people feel it is foolish to pay for something that you can do for free, but an organized outing will provide the security you seek as well as camraderie and a bit of an education too. You might meet some interesting folks to dine with afterwards.

Sherry,
Don't be as paranoid as I was visiting Rome. After I was there and especially doing the Night Walk, I felt very safe. There are people everywhere and no real danger. Do be smart and use a money belt. Don't carry anything of real value with you if you are worried about pick pockets and scammers. Take precautions but don't make it your top concern.

Yes! Definitely do it, and allow plenty of time to linger. It was a highlight of our stay in Rome. Enjoy your trip!

Yes, I've done it and felt perfectly safe, just hold on to your bag/purse/whatever cuz another time in Rome some kids did come up behind me with mischief in their minds!

Thanks so much for the great replies. I really want to do this and take my time. I'll have Rick's audio and I'm so looking forward to the experience.

We were in Rome for a week in July. We went out and walked around every evening - in all the main piazza's: Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Trevi, Spanish Steps and Trastevere. We felt very safe. While I was with my husband, we also had our two kids with us. We didn't stay out too late, prob not past 10:30 PM. It was wonderful, I loved Rome!
