Rome

Hi, We are staying in Soriano Nel Cimino in November. We plan on driving to Orte, taking the train from there. I have read it is relatively easy. Let you know for sure in November. :)

There are places out near the GRA (ring road) where you can stay and avoid the downtown traffic of Rome. Here's a list of hotels near/in Rome with free parking. I certainly would not drive a car in Rome unless you're fairly experienced driving in Italy, know exactly where you are going, and are a confident/assertive/aggressive driver! We drove a motorino daily, but we also knew all the shortcuts, the one-way streets, and on a motorino so we did not have to worry about ZTL's. Do make sure that you have an IDP. There are many smaller towns outside Rome, or near the beach that are connected by train or Cotral bus. I'd certainly know my travel options from your accommodations as that can get costly if you have to rely on taxis.
