Will the Vatican sights be too crowded the day before Easter?
We are planning to spend our last 2 days in Rome and leave on Easter. I am concerned that the crowds might prevent us from seeing the sights or even finding a room.
STacy,,, Easter is the number one Christian holiday,, period.Rome will be busy .
Define "too crowded"? It will be crowded. If you haven't booked a hotel yet, you should probably do so as soon as you can. Crowds wouldn't prevent you from seeing the sites, it will just be more crowded and you might want to consider reserved time entry for the Vatican Museums if you plan to go there and get tickets for the Colloseum/Forum/Palatine Hill from the Forum or Palatine Hill entrances instead of at the Colloseum as the lines will likely be pretty darn long.
