Romantic Trip to Tuscany - Itinerary Help Please

My husband and I have the chance to take a 6 day trip in June coinciding with our 25th anniversary. Would like to stay in Tuscany region and plan a romantic trip and enjoy the honeymoon we never had - perhaps driving, staying in quaint old towns, perhaps cooking classes/wine tastings, we basically would love to "live the fairy tale" in Tuscany for the week. Does anyone have an itinerary or trip they've used they'd be willing to share?

For that short period a fixed base with a car looks to me the best option. I have good memories of those hill towns like Montalcino, Pienza and Montepulciano. A lot of interesting things are within easy reach, including destinations as Siena, Cortona and Orvieto.

If you are looking for a tale Tuscany experience, nothing is better than Villa Ciggiano, a luxury villa in the area near Castelfalfi which could offer all the services you writed about. This villa is a dream come true, something you cold not describe in words.

If you desire to visit Florence and Siena I suggest to read about the things you can do (and what to eat, where to eat, where to go) in the site of Federico Minghi. He is really like an ambassador of Tuscan style :)

If you are looking for a not too expensive base B&B you will find surely what you are looking for. What about Olivia?

I suggest to visit Florence, Siena, Pisa, Radda in Chianti, Volpaia in Chianti, Pistoia, Colle di Buggiano, Montefioralle, Monteriggioni and Certaldo.

Hope you will enjoy Tuscany and your new honey moon!

I just came back from Italy and stayed at several B&B. I suggest a place 30 km from Siena , its absolutely beautiful. You could do day trips from there as well but you must rent a car at the airport. You can do a cooking class there and they also prepare a freshly cooked meal every night for 24 Euros. I stayed in the suite that has stairs going down and a pretty big patio looking out to gardens. The property has a pool as well. I am actually heading back there end of august with my husband to get away. Whatever you end up Italy is a beautiful place. http://www.casolarelibbiano.it/

If you have six days, which is indeed very short considering the jet lag (1/2 day) , I would choose to stay in an apartment rather than a hotel, so as not to be worried by maids, service people, etc, sleep and have breakfast when you decide it.
I would choose as a base for the whole stay, either Florence or Siena. I would visit these two cities and then a trip to some place in the Chianti region such as Montepulciano and that would leave you memories. Try not to do too much or else, you'll be overwhelmed by Art.

I think it depends on if you want to hire a car.

Without a car...
Florence - Lucca - Siena (2 nights each)

With a car...
Florence (2 or 3 nights)
Agriturismo nr Montepulciano (3 or 4 nights)
