Will be meeting my future son-in-law for the first time in Rome.! Any suggestions on a nice restaurant?
We love Osteria 44, just off via Venti Settembre and not far from the U.S. Embassy. Mostly seafodd, some meats, all excellent dishes. Service is attentive but not invasive. It is quiet so you can have a conversation without difficulty. The owner, Sergio, personally oversees everything. You can reserve thru the website. Tell him (in English) that it is a special evening and why. He will make it perfect for you!

We also dined at Osteria 44 while in Rome in September past, and experienced a truly amazing evening of wonderful food, wines and service. Would not be afraid to reccomend this place to anyone.
