My wife and I are currently stsying in an apartment in Florence south side of the Arno just minutes from the Ponte Vecchio. We are looking for suggestions for a romantic restaurent to celebrate our 50th anniversary. Thanks Clay

Haven't passed anything in your strolls around Florence? Romantic restaurant could be an In and Out Burger if the person I was with was my true love. That said, try the Golden View Open Bar on Via de Bardi. Window seat table. Noisy, great jazz trio. Stellar food. Or Alfredo sull'Arno on the corner of the same street. Quieter. Food just as good. Or try looking here and see if any of the places mentioned intrigue you; http://www.emikodavies.com/blog/a-taste-of-florence/ Happy 50th. Ciao.

Clay, My wife and I, for our anniversary ate, at the Golden View on the south bank of the Arno immediately east of Ponte Vecchio. Wonderful views of the bridge and Vasari Corridor on the north bank. The food matched the views. The interior is contemporary and elegant. Reserve a table on the windows if possible. http://www.goldenviewopenbar.com/

If you haven't yet been to Trattoria Quatro Leoni (probably very near you on Piazza Passera), I can highly recommend that. Their pear ravioli is one of the best dishes I have ever tasted.

Hi Clay, I know you have already booked your restaurant but please take a look at this place. It's just outside of the city center, you can take a cab there (that is what I did). It is a great restaurant with the most beautiful view. http://www.ristoranteomero.it/ Enjoy and Happy 50th!!! Valerie
