Roman Honeymoon - Hotel Suggestions?

Hi! We are booking our honeymoon to Italy in late August, early September - we will be staying 4 nights in Rome, before continuing on to Florence and Italy. Can you please suggest any hotels in Rome? Our budget is between 150-200 euros per night, but we can be flexible if needed. We are open to any location, but would like to be able to walk to most major sites. We are usually budget travelers, but want to make sure we do this right for our honeymoon!

(bump)I usually rent apartments in Rome but stayed at a few hotels in different areas too. Love, love, love Hotel 47. I was in Rome a few weeks ago, in an apartment, still went to the rooftop bar at Hotel 47. Great location and a very romantic roof bar and a nice restaurant too (and I don't like hotel restaurants). If this is out of your budget, look at Hotel Forum. I'd stay here too. Lots of the romance factor. Even better location. Congrats!

If you're spending 150-200 euros per night, you must be on your honeymoon. Flash forward after 20 years of marriage: We average spending 70 euros per night, and find perfectly decent accommodations. Booking.com is now the most comprehensive website for rooms, as they cover just about everywhere you'll ever go, and at all price levels. We're staying on a reservation through AirBnB.com next week, and they're really getting to be popular worldwide. We prefer bed and breakfasts in most locales vs. hotels.
But when going to Rome, I would suggest you look at RonInRome.com and see what hotels he's recommending.

It's your honeymoon. Don't skimp here. Look for romance, not closeness to Termini or free breakfast. :) Look for roof top terraces, location to city centers, and nice rooms (with a view if possible). Stay city center. If you have a 200Eur budget a night, spend all of it here. Next trip to Rome (and there always is one) sleep cheaper and spend it on some great meals.

The hotel that we stayed in Rome (right next to the Pantheon) is called Albergo del Senato. I highly recommend it - you wouldn't be disappointed. It has a roof top lounge/bar where you can take in the sunset and where they have really awesome sangria (or whatever drinks/snacks you want). We originally reserved a Superior Double room with a balcony facing the Pantheon (what a view!!!). It's fancy but the hotel staff are very friendly (they upgraded my son and I to a higher room at no charge). Here are more details...www.albergodelsenato.it / info@albergodelsenato.it / phone (+39) 06 6784343 (r.a). The exact address is Piazza della Rotonda, 73 - 00106 ROMA. The hotel is very centrally located to all the great sites (like the Trevi Fountain). Being that it's your honeymoon, it would be money well spent.

How exciting!! I spent my honeymoon in Rome 20 years ago this year. Congratulations!! I don't have a hotel rec for you, but I do recommend you get a place with air conditioning!! It will be hot as Hades and you don't want to be hot and grumpy on your honeymoon. Have a great time!
