We love the idea of the Roma Pass but we also want to pre-book some attractions to avoid line-ups. It appears that you can't pre-book tickets at the Roma Pass price over the internet, or am I missing something here?
The only thing you can and need to book with the romapass is the Borghese gallery. You can call them to book a reservation at +390632810.
For other sites the romapass allows you to bypass the line. There are no reservations required.
The romapass will not get you any discounts or entries to the vatican museums. It is not part of the pass. To book a tour or pre-purchase tickets to the vatican museums go here:

Just curious, what sites were you looking to pre-book?
Donna
Thanks Donna. We're looking at the Coliseum, pantheon, forums, Borghese gallery, and a few others that I can't recall at the moment. Perhaps we've misunderstood what we've read / heard and we won't need to pre-book as much as we had thought. We'll definitely make reservations at the Borghese gallery though.
Thanks again.
Keith
You'll bypass the line to the colosseum and forum. The pantheon is free so you won't need the pass for it. As for the Borghese, everyone needs to make a reservation to see it, not just romapass holders. They limit the number of guests in the gallery to just 200 every 2 hours. Call soon to make your reservation as they fill up quickly in the summer.
You won't need to make any other reservations for sites unless you want to bypass the line at the vatican museums. These can be very long but buying tickets ahead of time or booking a tour directly through the vatican allows you to bypass the line.
You should have no waiting and no worries.

Let's see...should a person buy the Roma Pass over the internet or just pick it up when getting to Rome?
And remember that the Roma Pass can't be used at the Vatican Museums. Pre-booking a timed entry may be worthwhile there.
If you pre-purchase the romapass you'll have to specify where you'll pick it up. If that's not a problem then you can buy it and cross if off your list of things to get done. If you wait until you're in Rome you can buy it at any of the sites honoring the pass or the tourist information centers that sell the pass. For a list of sites just go to the romapass website.

Ask your hotel if they seel the Roma Pass. That's where I got mine - only thing was they only sold it for cash. They also routinely make reservations for the Borghese.
You can also get the Roma Pass at the train station if you arrive by train. That's what we did and it was very easy.
