Roma Pass & Regional Trains

Does anyone know if the Roma Pass, that allows you use of the public transportation system in Rome, is good for the regional trains? I'm staying about 30 minutes outside of Rome and will be riding the train in. I will be coming from the Zagarolo train station. If this train ride will be covered with the pass I want to buy one before my first ride so I don't spend any more money than I have to. Thanks for your help!

According to their website, the Roma Pass's transportation covers:

Free admission to ATAC urban buses and trans, Underground lines A and B, Met.Ro trains: Roma - Lido, Roma - Viterbo (in the Roma - Sacrofano section), Roma - Pantano railways lines.

While I am not familiar with the Zagarolo train station, it does not sound like your required train route is covered.

There is a Zone including Rome and surrounding areas where you can travel with a 1 euro transit ticket. I assume the area allowed with the Roma pass is the same one. Search the net for a map of the Rome transit system, it will include this zone and you should be able to locate your station. The zone does reach pretty far, most of the way to the Airport (Buit of course not the airport) in one direction, All the way down to Ostica Antica in another, and similar in the other directions.

you can only use public transport of Roma.
Zagarolo is out of Roma.

Roma and Lazio pubblic transport are organizated in concentric zones:

Zagarolo 1 zone (B) -> Metrebus Lazio ( http://www.atac.roma.it/index.asp?p=1&i=869&o=3&a=3&ci=55&tpg=2&lingua=ENG )

for Rome->Zagarolo you need 3 zones ticket
(2 for zone A and 1 for ring B)

Metrebus Lazio including Rome - Zagarolo
types of ticket:
BIRG – Integrated Regional Daily Ticket 6 euro
BTR – Regional Tourist Ticket - 3 day - 16 euro
