roma pass or not..

Hi Again, I want to make full use of our roma pass. I find it more convenient than buying transportation tickets along the way. Problem is i might only use it for the forum sites (colosseum, palatine hill). So is visiting the National Museum of Rome and the Forum doable in a day so that I can maximize the Roma Pass. Either way, its tempting to get it cause you get unlimited metro/bus rides and the sites are discounted after the 2 free sites? Any thoughts??

Dang - I just read an article about the Venice/Florence and Rome passes and if they were a good deal. I'm sure they said Florence and Rome was, but Venice not...I'll see if I can find it and post a link. I think just for skipping lines it's worth it...(I read it on my ipad, so will have to see if I can find it...)

Ok. I can't figure out how to cut and paste on my iPad, but go to budget travel.com and in the search, you can put in Italy passes and the article will show. They thought it was a deal.

If you're only going to use it for transportation and the colosseum combo then the pass is not worth getting. You can buy a transport pass for a lot less than the romapass. If you will be seeing two or more sites and using public transportation then it's worth buying to save time and money. I don't know if you'll use the bus and metro system as often as you think. Rome is a very compact city and is great for walking. I find that I only use the metros at night when I'm tired but not during the day as I like to be able to see the city as I go from site to site.
