Roma Pass for a 4 year old??

Hi there, I am traveling to Rome with my 4 year old and was wondering if I need to purchase a Roma pass for her. I understand that the Metro would be free for her (but I could be wrong), and I just spoke with Borghese Galleries and they also indicated that she would be free of charge. (I confirmed that we were non-euro residents). We are also planning on going to the Coliseum and Forum and taking public transportation. Does anyone have any experience or helpful advice with this situation? Many thanks.

I searched this the other day, and for the public transportation it looked like if they are under 1 Meter (39 inches) there is no charge. I couldn't find anything for the museums.

Also something to consider (just thought of it), is that you need a Roma pass to bypass the line at the Colliseum...so I guess that means we should get a Roma pass for our 4 year old. Unless anyone else has experience with this??

Heading to Roma tonight!!

For transportation, Age 10 and older must have a bus/metro pass.... so you're okay there. The "site" aspect of the card is different and each site has it's own rules - but many will not charge for a 4-year old. For example, at the Colosseo, there is NO CHARGE for children under 6 years of age. For EU citizens, the fees and charges are quite different. Again, the fees and age rules at the Colosseo/Palatine/Forum will be different than at other "Roma Pass" sites - for the best info, search for info on that particular site or museum.

You may want to have a look at this site. It shows that Canada has reciprocal arrangments that allow free entry for children under 15 and seniors over 65 to Rome museums and sites. We were in Rome last year with New Zealand relatives and the children (9 and 11) got in free at the Colosseum. This also applied at Pompeii and Herculaneum. Maybe the Commonwealth thing?

Might be useful to print and take it with you, also you will need to show your passport.
