Roma Pass for 5 year old?

Do I need to purchase a Roma Pass for my 5 year old or is he automatically free entry (without waiting in line) to museums/etc? Same question for Rome public transportation - with Roma Pass the rest of my family will be covered (i.e. husband and sons ages 13 and 15) but is 5 year old free? We are trying to plan ahead to avoid as many lines as possible (via Roma Pass for Colosseum/Forum/Palatine Hill and guided family tour for Vatican and St. Peter's). Long lines + Aug heat + 5 year old = misery!

Your son does not qualify for free entry to anywhere other than the Vatican museums. For all other sites he'll need to pay the entry fee. He will be allowed free public transport with an adult. I would just go ahead and buy the romapass to alleviate any headaches. Donna
