Roma pass and museums

I am a bit confused with Roma pass and need some help with Borghese Gallery. I had made my reservation by calling and informing them that I would be using Roma Pass to enter for free but now it seems this will be our third museum so I will have to buy concession tickets. Does anyone know if I can buy tickets over there and still keep my spot or is it only for free entry and I need to reserve online? Can I still skip booking fee with the concession ticket? Please advise

Thanks

To get the most out of your Rome pass, use it on the 2 most expensive sites first.

Are you counting the Colosseum and Roman Forum as two? They are counted as one, with two days to see them.

Thanks for the list. No, we are planning to do Colosseum and Capitoline on the first day. Our plan was to do Borghese first but I could get spot only on the third day. Looks like we will still get some discount on the museum. I do not know if they will charge me the booking fee there but I have no choice.

You get to use the Roma pass for two free sites and everything else is discounted. Most people use it for the Borghese Gallery and the Colliseum. Keep in mind that the Colliseum, Forum, and Palatine hill are all lumped together as one site, so you would still be fulfilling your two site max. You don't have to have the pass in your hand to make the Borghese reservation but you will need to make the reservation over the phone. They don't check to confirm if you will be using it for other sites. The reservation will be worthless if the pass is already used on two other sites. You should be fine.

Thanks, Abe. You mentioned that the reservation will be worthless if I had already used Roma Pass for other two places. Can I still keep my spot and buy tickets then? Sorry, we do not want to miss Borghese Gallery. Thanks so much!!

I would assume so since everyone has to line up at the Borghese and pick up their reserved tickets; you will just pay instead of use the pass. Don't know this works for sure as I used the pass, but would bet it is so.

If you're using the 72 hour pass, it's still good for the Borghese.( At a reduced rate. )
6,50E
Take it to the ticket window and pay. No need for a full price ticket.

Remember to arrive at least 30-45 minutes prior, otherwise they will give your reservation away.

We loved using Roma pass at multiple tourist sites. Many places gave us almost 50% discount. We used Roma pass to enter free for Colosseum and Capitoline museum. Paid only 6 Euro for Borghese gallery (reservation required). My son enjoyed Domus Romane more than Borghese and it was significantly less with Roma pass. We also did Julius Cesar Forum show in the evening with that discounted price. San Angelo was another place my son had liked. Thanks to everyone on this forum.

Regardless of gaining free or reduced entry to the Borghese gallery you must still call to make the reservation. The only difference is in if you will pay the reduced fee or use it as a free entry. It sounds like you'll be paying the reduced fee. This doesn't impact your reservation at all. All you need do is let them know you're using the pass and then just pay at the counter when you pick up your tickets.
