Roma pass and admission to the Borghese

hello again - Having read all the advantages of the Roma pass, we are planning on purchasing one and use it for admission at the Borghese. I also know you must reserve admission in advance for the Borghese. How can you do that and not pay the full admission rate while reserving online? THANK YOU.

If you make a reservation via the official Borghese Gallery site at Ticekteria.it you do not pay in advance. Present your confirmation number & RomaPass 30 minutes before entry and you pay only the reservation fee.

I am a little confused on the Roman pass???? would you please clarify that??? I have reserved for the Borghese museum in June,2008. I have puchased a tour package for the coliseum in the morning of 6/25/08, and the Borghese musem in the afternoon 3:00PM interested in the Roman pass as well. Am I too late for that/or I have done wrong???? Please Help!:-(

Robin, I am so far from being an expert on all this, but from what I understand the Roma pass entitles you to two free admissions to a number of sites, including the Borghese, discounts on other sites and discounts on transit. All must be spent within a 3-day period.

Robin, if you have purchased a tour package (meaning a guided tour I assume), then your admission to the sites is most likely included in the tour. So unless you want to visit some of the other sites on the Roma Pass, such as the National Museum of Rome, and use the three-day metro/bus pass, the Roma Pass is probably not worth the money for you.

If I've misunderstood and you have only reserved a time slot for visiting the Borghese and not an actual tour, you can and should probably go ahead and purchase the Roma Pass--preferably when you arrive in Rome.

The ticketeria.it web site is pretty easy to navigate to make a reservation. Make sure you only make a reservation, not purchase tickets. Also, if you have problems with the web site, they have instructions about how to enable cookies to make everything work right. Once I did that, it was easy.

Carmen and Liz,
Thank you for all your advice/recommendations. Yes I have purchased the tour for the colosseum/forum on 6/25/08 AM, and only reservation for the Borghese museum. I will be in Rome until 6/27/08 wondering??? would it be better not to get the Roma pass since we don't have too much time??? Would it be tooo much to attempt for the Colesseum/forum with the Borghese museum on the same day(reservation at 3:00PM) since I am traveling alone with an 11years boy??? thank you for all recommendations:-)

It looks like you just click on "Reserve" next to the date you want (written in dd mm yyyy format), and enter your name. As of today the dates appear available through July 31st.

I was told you need to enter email and they send a copy you need to bring.
after I add my name and ckick...it just goes back to the same page.

David, I just made my reservation and it worked quite well. They gave me the opportunity to print the confirmation page before I exited the site. And I just received the email confirmation too. I would try it again if I were you. Good luck.

Is the Romapass 23 euros or 20 euros? The web site shows 23 euros. If I buy it on site instead of online, do I pay less?

Carmen,

We just got back from Italy and had a ROma pass. Its great! We too used it for entry at Borghese, which is a great place to visit. We couldn't figure out how to book online with the Roma pass, so we called and it was easy from there. The place is nice, but it is a long walk through the park to the gallery. Give yourself about 20 min to walk through the gardens and find the gallery and make sure you have plenty of water!

I would like to book a reservation at the Borghese. It looks like the booking window is only open through mid-May. Does anyone know when June will be open?
