Roma Pass

Hello,

First, thanks for the warning about having pizza at the Vatican.
I'm trying to determine whether I should purchase the Roma Pass. The Euro 36.00 pass allows free entry to the first 2 visited museums and/or archaeological sites.
My question - If I go to the Colosseo/ Palatino/Foro Romano, does that exhaust my Roma pass free museums and/or archaeological sites entry, or is that considered one site?
My next site would be the Galleria Borghese. This is the http://www.galleriaborghese.beniculturali.it with Bernini's sculpture of Apollo and Daphne? There seem to be two different links I'm finding: www.galleriaborghese.it/borghese/en/edefault.htm (which shows Apollo and Daphne) and http://www.galleriaborghese.beniculturali.it (Spanish & Italian only site).

If the Forum and Colosseum are considered two distinct sites, then should I go forward to book my entry online to the Galleria Borghese?

Thanks,

Patrick

The perfect combo for the Roma Pass is to use it for the Colosseo/Foro/Palatino and the Galleria Borghese. The Colosseo, et.al., is one site so one admission. You must telephone the Borghese to make a reservation and use the Roma Pass. You will pay a reservation fee (I think Euro 2.00 each) at the Borghese when you pick up your tickets. Every other site is then discounted and of course you have transportation also included in the pass.

You can keep with your original plan. You won't use up your pass at your first stop and can go on to the Borghese.

The colosseum, forum and palatine hill are a combo site and use the same ticket so for the romapass it would only be considered a single entry to visit them. You have 2 consecutive days during the validity of the romapass to visit the combo sites but you only get one entry per site. The forum and palatine hill are considered a single site.

For the Borghese gallery, if using the romapass you must call to make the reservation. You don't need to have the pass in hand when making the call. Just let them know you'll be using the pass for free entry. Here is where you can find the phone number to call. Do not make a reservation online as you won't get a refund if you do use the pass.

The Apollo and Daphne are at the Borghese, along with other beautiful sculptures by Bernini. I probably spend more time there (collectively) than at any other museum.
