Roma Pass

I was wondering, does anyone know if you can use the Roma Pass back to back. My husband and I will be in Rome for 8 nights and it looks like the best value would be to use two RomaPasses. The plan is to take two tours and then have the passes kick in

Thank you

Hi Amber. Do you mean buy 2 three-day Roma Passes each and use them sequentially during your 8 days? You certainly can do that. But your first two uses with each pass will always be a free entrance. So if you pick a €6.00 site then an €8.00 site followed by a €10.00 site, you will get the €6 and €8 sites free and a discount on the €10 one.

You can buy as many romapasses as you like but I would do the math to see if you really will save any money with the second one. Most people only save money with the pass by getting into the colosseum and Borghese gallery for free. These are two of the most expensive sites in Rome. The other sites in Rome cost much less and wouldn't add up enough to make a second pass worth the money. You should make a list of what you want to see and do the math as to the second pass saving you anything or costing you more than paying out of pocket.

Buy the first pass, use it as efficiently as you can, then see if you need/want to buy another one. You don't need to buy both at once.

thank you all for your advice. my plan was to do a tour for the coliseum- we want to see the upper and lower levels, then have the pass cover two of the more expensive sites (in Rome) and then use the pass to go to Hadrian's Villa for the next two expensive sites, but in my rush to be prepared and I didn't think to buy the passes at two separate time, which is what I will do. thank you

The two rather special places in Tivoli, several miles to the east of Rome are Hadrian's Villa and Villa d'Este with the thousands of fountains. Unfortunately they are not available on the Roma Pass, only on the Rome e Piu Pass which, again unfortunately, is not for sale at all at the moment.

You can use the pass for entry to the colosseum and just pay for the tour itself. The colosseum is one of the most expensive sites in Rome and it makes sense to use that as a free site. I really don't think you'll need two passes or that buying two will save you any money.
