Roma pass

We have 3 days in Rome in October - a Wednesday through a Friday. Is the Roma Pass the best way to go to maximize our time? I see a website with the Omnia Roma Pass and several others also. Will it allow us to do a Friday night tour of the Vatican and Thursday night at the Colosseum? It has been 40 years since my sister and I were last in Rome....thanks for your help.

Best place to buy your Roma Pass is in Rome. You can buy them at tourist offices, train stations and tourist info booths at major venues. It does not cover going into the Vatican.... but does cover several other sites and is a 3 day Metro and bus pass. I always get one and think it is a great deal.
(the fee is higher if you buy the pass online before you get to Rome. - see other posts on this thread for lots of detailed info.)

The price of the pass is no different if you order online or buy it in Rome. There is no advantage to buying online so just pick it up in Rome. the pass won't cover any admissions to the Vatican sites. I don't believe the pass will cover the nights at the Colosseum. These are considered special events and not regular tickets. These special events don't include entry into the forum or palatine hill either. You will need to pay out of pocket for the night tour of the colosseum. Unless you plan to visit 3 or more sites covered by the pass and use public transport then the pass won't save you any money. You'll be better off just booking each site individually through the official websites. As for the Omnia pass, that's a total waste of money. donna
