Must you use the Roma pass and transportation pass immediately after purchase, or can you start the countdown on a day of your choosing.

Kent has steered you to the correct Roma Pass website. You can hold onto the pass until you need them. Once you "validate" each, you have three days of usage from that point! I held onto some passes I bought for friends for over a month before they used them.

Just to sort of tag onto Ron and Kent's answers, the transportation pass in particular starts its countdown from the first time you insert it into the metro turnstile or bus validation machine. The date will print on the pass, and you have unlimited use until midnight of the third day.
