Roma or Archeological Pass or both

Should I purchase just one of these passes or both? We will be in Rome for a week and plan to see many sites.

I would suggest that you just purchase the arch card since you are going to be there a week. once you get your free sights (3 i think w/the arch and 2 with the roma) discounts might apply to other sights. i was in Roma for 4 days and used the Roma pass for all transportation and the most expensive sights. you need to remember to validate it the first time you use it because that's when the time starts running on the card to avoid fines.

Some of the attractions offered differ with each card. With the itinerary we have planned it works out to were we do just a little better than break even by purchasing both. If you haven't already, buy one of Rick's guidbooks, it's well worth the money and time saved.

The Roma pass is good for 3 days from date of first entry. The first 2 entries are free, you get to skip the line and use of public transportation is included. Further entries are discounted. FYI, the 2007 guidebook lists the price as €18, but the web site, romapas.it, lists it as €20. Attractions included can be found in the multi-language brochure at www.romapass.it/doc/guida.pdf.

The Archeological Pass is listed in the guidebook as costing €22. The pass is valid for seven days and allows you to bypass any lines.
I was unable to find a direct web site, but I did find one that sells the passes (for a fee) ahead of time,http://www.tickitaly.com/galleries/archaeological-rome-pass.php. They also list the attractions.

I am curious about the Roma Pass. How does that work with the Galleria Borghese when you have to reserve ahead of time??
