I'm going to be in Rome on September 22, and would like to check out the Roma-Lazio soccer match. I know tickets may be hard to come by due to the rivalry, but what is the best way to buy a ticket? Local dealer, through my hotel, at the stadium, other...? Also, what is the best way to get from my hotel (near Repubblica) to Stadio Olimpico? Thanks.
Best source to secure tickets will be the Vigogo resale site: http://tinyurl.com/k9dqkyf Don't purchase "away fan" tickets and bring your passport to the stadium.
Thanks! Just bought the ticket. I'll be sure to not wear my Chelsea shirt, too. :)
I'm going to be there 2 weeks later for Fiorentina vs Lazio. If the games aren't sold out you can get tickets at several of the team stores around Rome the day you get to Rome. That is what I'm going to do. Check the Roma website they have a English page and you can buy tickets off there too. Lazio no English but use Google translate and both sites have directions to the stadium via bus or electric tram
Sorry for hijacking your thread. But I'm wondering if I should book tickets for FC Barcelona through the Camp Nou's website or through the Viagogo website mentioned by Michael. I've noticed that Viagogo charges a booking and shippig fee. Can't the ticket be printed at home?
The official FC Barcelona site: http://www.fcbarcelona.com/info-tickets The Viagogo site is best for high-profile match where tickets are scarce. As Nou Camp is a large stadium, tickets are more plentiful so it's easier to purchase via official channels.
Thanks Michael! In your experience, do all seats get sold in advance, even the general seats, or can I leave it till I get there?
You're welcome. As long it's not a high profile match it's easy to purchase tickets at the stadium box office the day before the match. They sell a lot of tickets to tourists. Be sure to also do the stadium/team museum tour, it's a must see attraction and you exit via the world's largest Nike Store;)
