Roma Card?

A group of us will be traveling to Italy this summer. We will visit Venice, Florence, Rome, and Sorrento. We purchased the Firenza Card per Rick's suggestion and I am wondering if there is a similar card for Rome?

How long will you be in Rome and do you have sites you plan to visit?
I always get the Roma card when I go to Rome. It is very convenient to have 3 days transportation on the buses and metro. I always use the 3 entrances to museums or monuments.
Note; I was only charged 1 "admission" when I went to the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and then into the Forum. Then I used another for the Borghese Gallery and the 3rd for a museum.
I think it is a great deal.
Oh - and I just bought mine at a tourist info on the street when I got there. I think they also still sell them at the TI in the main train station......maybe someone on this group has more up to date info.

We will be in Rome four full days, arriving from Florence on a Tuesday afternoon and departing for Sorrento on Sunday morning.
We will visit Vatican City (St. Peter's Basilica, Museums, Sistine Chaple), Caesar Shuffle (per Rick Steve's Rome Book), Borghese Gallery, National Museum of Rome, Baths of Diocletian, etc. As well as evening passegiatas and plenty of gelato stops. We left plenty of time for unplanned stuff as well.

You might want to look into the romapass.

I believe that is what Francis is talking about. The pass is valid for three days (expiring at midnight of the third day) and is valid for transportation and sites. You get free entry into the first two sites you visit and reduced entry into all others covered by the pass. Sites that are a combo site are still a combo site with the romapass so the colosseum, forum and palatine hill are considered one site. The Vatican is not covered by this pass. Once you use the pass for either a site or transportation your three days have started so use the pass wisely.

There is also a 2 day version but I don't find that one very useful.

Thanks for the information! My wife just reminded me that the Rick Steve's Rome 2014 book has this information on pages 26 & 54...

It depends on how much energy you have, how much you want to do in a day. We did not purchase any card primarily because I reserved the Vatican tickets online myself, and also booked a VIP Coloseum tour with Walks of Italy. Thus, we had two afternoons free plus one more full day, and with both those major sites, we wanted to just check out the Campidoglio museums one afternoon, and some churches here and there. One of the pleasures of Rome is just walking around the enjoying the neighborhoods.
