Hello We are travelling to Italy in June, would like to drive from Salerno to Rome, passing through Roccamandolfi on the way (family homeland). Does anyone have experience with driving in that area, visiting Roccamandolfi, or any other tips? Much appreciated!

I'm not familiar with that part of Italy, but you can take a look at Via Michelin's recommended route on ViaMichelin.com. If you zoom way in, the most scenic stretches of road will be outlined in green. That description seems to apply to the SS17 as it heads up to Isernia. There are other scenic roads in the area.
