Are the roads clear April 10-15? Wd tire chains be required?
We WANTED to see the Dolomites, but understand chains we be needed for this area.

From 15th November to 15th April the law says all cars must have winter tyres or chains (Meaning chains in the car) for travelling on motorways - autostrade in Italy. Also for all other roads in Lombardy, Trentino-Alto Adige etc. You are unlikely to need them in April but it could still snow and the law says you must have them. Rental cars should have them provided, check.
