Road Signs

When my wife and I travel in Italy we usually rent a car. Most road signs are simple and easy to understand. But when we get near to historic towns, we start seeing local signs and although I'm a student of Italian, the meaning of the signs sometimes elude me. (resulting in fines, of course - Dove' l'ufficio postale?) Is there a site or a book that I could refer to that would review and translate most Italian road signs?

Thanks,

steve

This is a pretty good summary: http://www.ukmotorists.com/italy-road-traffic-signs.pdf

The signs are largely EU standardized, so they're the same as French signs, for example.

If you want your eyes to glaze over, try this: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparaison_des_panneaux_de_signalisation_routi%C3%A8re_en_Europe. It's in French, but you'll get the idea.

If you read Italian, or don't mind the occasional copy and paste into google or bing translate, this may be useful: https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Segnali_di_indicazione_nella_segnaletica_verticale_italiana

Hope that helps.

Thanks to all who answered. I'll give them all a good look, especially the one in Italian
