Never been to Italy and am really trying to research :) This is what i have come up with - maybe get some tips about the itinerary. Land in Milan (MXP) - train to: Santa Margherita/Ligure - 3 nights; Then 3 nights "somewhere" in CT; then 3 nights in Siena, trying to find a ease-moderate day bike tour of the wine country; back up and 3 nights in Lerici (golf 9 holes one day at the Lerici Golf Club). Then up to Milan airport-back home.
NOW - my questions is: instead of SM 3 nights; CT 3 nights - maybe we should stay 6 nights in Camogli OR Rapallo and take day trips from there. That aleviates one move. What does my itinerary sound like to you and VERY OPEN to suggestions. We are not rich, but we have the money to stay at a place with a view of the sea, the mountains and definitely want a balcony with the view. I am pretty naive when it comes to Italy :) Thank you very much for ANY help ! Dianne in Chicago :)
