What do we do with our passports when we are on the beach? I thought you are supposed to have it with you at all times but I don’t feel comfortable leaving it in a bag on the beach while in the water.

Leave them at your hotel in the room safe.
I have never taken my passport to the beach, or anywhere else for that matter wherever I've travelled.

Make a photocopy of your passport and leave the original at the hotel, together with all your other valuables such as debit or credit cards. Only have the money with you which you need while being out, on a beach or elsewhere.
