Any suggestions on goood ristorantes around Rialto, facing the Grand Canal? Does anyone have any suggestions of good places serving - cicchetti- ( the italian tapas ) ? Grazie!

Have you looked in RS 2012 Venice Guide Book yet? Lots of good suggestions that I am using for our upcoming trip to Venice.

There are a bunch of restaurants lining the Grand Canal (on the San Polo side, as I recall, though they may be on the other side as well, and I just can't remember). I'm sure that none of them serve great food, but the views can't be beat. We stopped at several that allowed us to have drinks only, in the late afternoon when they wouldn't expect dinner customers anyway, and enjoyed all the fantastic scenery and people-watching.
