We will be traveling from San Marino to Cinque Terre on 3 July 2024 (Sunday). What is the best way to route our travel?The info on Rome2rio is a little confusing. I welcome any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Insuggust you forget Rome2Rio and use a national train system to plan your train travel. And use La Spezia or Monterosso to plan your route as you need to take a regional train from one of those stations to your Cinque Terre village.
I like to start with bahn.de, even for Italy, as the website is more user-friendly. See what the route looks like, then go Tom Trenitalia check the routes again and buy tickets.
I don’t know what R2R shows and what you found confusing, but you can go from Rimini to Spezia in 5 - 5.5 hours with a single train change, at Milan or Parma. Or with 2 changes at Bologna and Firenze.
