Rimini Itinerary

Hi All,
I have a wedding to attend in Rimini in June. I would like to build a trip around this that would include Germany, Austria and/or Switzerland - three places I'd like to get to know better.
What's the best city to fly into (from the US) to string together a trip?
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Do you want to travel before the wedding, after the wedding, or both?
Just start checking from your home airport to the various options. What is best will depend on your location, the date, your budget, whether you want direct or are fine with a plane change, etc.
Then check from those airports to Ancona, Venice, and Bologna, which are the airports closest to Rimini. If you will already be in Europe when traveling to RImini, might as well check Rimini airport too.

Be sure to look at open jaw flights
Ex
Fly into Munich
Fly home from Venice

Google flights is a good place to search but always book your flights with the actual airlines

Ravenna is close to Rimini and deserved a day visit.

Not sure how long you plan to stay in Europe. If you only have a couple of weeks, I suggest sticking to Italy and Switzerland.

Verona and Venice are obvious choices. Florence is incredible. You could head up to Milan and into Switzerland, checking out the lakes area, then consider Lucerne and Interlaken.

Fly home from Venice. I'm just getting ready to visit and found great options out of Venice.

Start open jaw (multi city flight option) in Munich or Frankfurt, depending on what you want to see in Germany. Munich and Salzburg make sense together to give you a taste of Bavaria and Western Austria. Berchtesgaden would be nice in good weather for mountain views (I've been once and it was socked in, so visited the Salt Mines).

You might want to add Rhein and/or Mosel Rivers to Germany and Hallstadt or Hall in Tyrol to Austria.

I've never linked in Switzerland from there, driving is convenient through Brenner Pass down into Italy. In early June, I'd probably skip Dolomites (hiking trails probably aren't open yet) and drive straight to Verona. Do you have time for a Tuscany swing? If not, Bologna then Rimini. See Ravenna then into Venice to finish.

As always, it depends on what you have time for. With two weeks, I'd probably plan Munich, Salzburg, Hall in Tyrol (because it's on the way with a car), Verona, Bologna, Rimini (visit Ravenna) and finish in Venice. That's still a lot but doable, much more and it will feel like a death march.
