Looking for a hotel as near as possible to the Teatro san Carlo.
Also best day trip to Pompeii.

Pompeii is easy. Just take the train from Garibaldi station to the Pompeii Scavi station on the Circumvesuviana. You can DIY, using the self guided info in Rick's guidebook, or hire a guide at the park entrance. We used the guidebook and found it quite sufficient. If going during warmer weather, wear a hat, use sunscreen frequently, and keep hydrated.
