Rick Steves Carry-on with wheels

I was reading and old post, where the person who posted said he had a R/S carry-on and also carried a black plastic garbage in case it rained. Has anyone had trouble with the carry-on's leaking when it rained? Last trip we had the R/S back pack carry-ons. I think we looked like pack Camels, so this time we are taking the ones with wheels. ;-)

Have used Rick's rollabaords for years. No leakage problems, but I don't leave it "out" in the rain. I did have to walk with it in light Portland Oregon-type rain in Siena for about 30 minutes once. No problems.

It would have to be a deluge for the plastic bag to make sense, I would think. And in that case, you might want to use it as a poncho instead. But since the plastic bags take up zero room, why not stick one or two in your bags, in case they come in handy?

My husband and I carried our Rick Steves rolling carryon / backpack bags all over Germany a few months ago. They endured lots (and lots!) of rain and even snow, and not a leak in sight. Those little bags are amazing, we love them.

I have a burgundy red RS wheeled bag. One year I was coming home from France and as I walked up to the baggage conveyor in the airport, I could see my bag and it seemed to be a much darker red color. I had a couple of bottles of wine in the bag and I was sure that they must have broken and was just sick that everything in my bag must be saturated in red wine. However when I reached the bag, it was just soaking wet from being out in the rain and everything inside was dry and safe.
