Rick Steves Best of Venice, Florence & Rome Question

What time does the tour group typically gather and go to the evening visit to the Accademia Gallery in Florence? Trying to determine whether to and/or what time to make a dinner reservation - or to just wing it that day. Thanks in advance for any input.

Have you contacted the RS office? Oddly the majority of posters on this Forum don’t take the RS tours.

I have taken this tour, it’s great btw, but I don’t remember the time we made the Accademia visit. But the RS tour office is very helpful with these sorts of questions and I would go there for the information.

It may not be the same for each group as the tickets may be different times. When are you traveling? IF it's this year the admission tickets to the Accademia will have been purchased and yes, the office can tell you what time your reservation is for and give you dinner suggestions.

I'd probably opt for dinner without reservations but then I'm not much of a reservations person.

We took this tour last October and our visit to the Accademia was in the evening. I think our tickets were for 5:30, but we got in a little bit later than that. I just looked at my photos and my first picture of David was at 5:55! We had dinner on our way back to the hotel afterward. There are lots of places to eat in that area of Florence and we had no need of reservations.

We went in April 2023 and according to my pictures of David it was 6:30.
