RICK'S PACK MATES

Just wondering if anyone has had experience with the pack mates. I'm wondering after rolling up the clothes and expelling the air, are the clothes creased, etc. when you arrive and take them out of the plastic wrap.
Thanks

Personally I think a 2.5 gal zip lock freezer bag will do the same thing for one tenth the price. And I think packing envelopes work better at compressing clothes. We use one packing envelope per bag for all of the shirts and pants. Leaves the clothes wrinkle free but with creases but the creases fall out fairly quick. Use 1 and 2.5 gal zip lock bags for underwear, socks, t-shirts, etc. With a magic marker mark the contents of each bag so that we know that everything is packed when we repack.

I can't comment on pack mates, but I have a set of Rick's packing cubes and love them.

I have the product from a different company. They are great at compressing stuff, but in my experience anything in them is going to be severely wrinkled. So they're fine for underwear, t-shirts, even sweaters, but I wouldn't put shirts or pants in them.

Also it is a much thicker plastic than zip-lock bags so they don't tear, and they have a one-way valve that makes it easy to expel most of the air.

I bring 3 with me; one for fresh underwear, one for the used, one for my lightweight sweater and rain shell.

question about the packing cubes. The convertible and the 21" wheeled carry on are 9x21x14. The packing cubes are: 14x11x5 (lrg) and 7x11x5 (sm).

Since the suitcases are 9" deep and the travel cubes if uses together and each 5" deep, wouldn't that be an inch too deep? I know the description says that they squish down when empty. How about when in the suit case?
