Rhine, Florence, Postiano?, Marseille OR Rhine, Florence, Verona/Lake Como?, Marseille

Hi There!

My Husband and I will be travelling in Germany and Italy before we head to France for a week of the Eurocup! We've booked our flight into Frankfurt and have 4 days planned in the Rhine. We also have our week in France for the soccer matches planned but need to decide on the 9 days we have left in between - we are thinking Italy. We would love to go back to Florence as we have both been before and really enjoyed it. We are thinking we should take a Ryan Air flight from Frankfurt HHK to Pisa and train to Florence - spend 3 nights in Florence enjoying the city, taking a cooking class and doing a wine tour in the country. After that leg we are a bit puzzled.... Here are a few ideas we have...

Option 1 - Postiano, Almafi coast - we've heard amazing things! Trouble is how to get there from Florence (5 hour train, 1 hr drive) and then to get to Marseille (fly through naples or rome?)
Option 2 - Train to Verona x 2 nights, train to Como x 2 nights (or do we need a car?), train from como to Milan, fly to Marseille from Milan (twin jet flight)

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Thanks SO much!!!

You don't need a car to visit Lake Como; trains access either the end of the lake at Como town or the eastern side of the lake, including Varenna; note that those are two different train lines; see www.trenitalia.com, since some of these options are not on the DB site.

Frankfurt Hahn airport is not very close to Frankfurt, but accessible in 2.5 hours by train/bus connection, for instance from Bacharach. These buses depart from Mainz and are reflected on DB train schedules.

I don't see any direct flights from Naples to Marseille, but they are available from Rome or Milan.
