I recently visited Italy and Spani with some friends. I have never been to Venice and decided to rely on Rick Steves' recommendations for hotels and wanted to give some feedback on one of the places I stayed at, specifically a bed & breakfast in the Rialto neighborhood called Rialto 1082.
First off, Nico and Damiano are great hosts, very friendly and always willing to help. I even used their computer as I only brought my iPad which didn't receive great service (sadly) in any part of the hotel. The wifi was basically non-existent, which is understandable given the age of the building, but as such it should be advertised as not having wifi.
Our group had 2 rooms - mine was on the 2nd floor next to the breakfast room. It was spacious with 2 large beds and a nice windows which allowed me to bring in air on those nights that it wasn't too hot or noisy. There is a wine bar across the street and on some nights the noise from the outside would continue into 1-2am. I know I was on vacation, but felt this was excessive given our itinerary. Although there was an air conditioner in the room, it didn't work very well - also not sure if something was off about it, or if many guests were using theirs at the same time.
I'm not a breakfast person although did enjoy the cappuccino that Nico made every morning for his guests. Overall a decent place, but I'd update your review of this bed & breakfast in saying there is no wifi.
