A question for those of you who have spent time in Siena. We will be returning a rental car in Siena mid-day on a Saturday. Our hotel is in the center of the city, and the Europcar office is outside of town, to the southeast. How should we get from the rental car office to our hotel? Drop off the car first and try to get a cab (I hear they are scarce in Siena)? Drop off the luggage at the hotel, then drop off the car and take the city bus back into town? Something else? Thanks.

Drop off the car first, then ask the Europcar agent to call a taxi to take you and your luggage to the hotel.
You don't give the details of your hotel, but if it's in the city center it is likely inside the Zona Traffico Limitato where only vehicles with resident permit can enter.
The Europcar office on Viale Europa (the only one in Siena) closes at 1pm on Saturdays. So be there before then.
