Returning Rental Car in Florence (Avis on Via Borgo Ognissanti)

I've read through the forums, but can't find any recent information. Hoping someone has returned a car to this location in 2018 and can offer advice.

I've heard conflicting reports re: returning our rental car to the Avis office on Borgo Ognissanti, from "just follow the directions and it's easy" to "avoid it at all costs, and return to the airport." Trying to decide if we should call and change our reservation.

We'll be returning the car during the day on a Thursday, and staying on in Florence.

JUST FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS AND IT’S EASY is the correct answer.
All other answers are scary tactics by people who shouldn’t be driving anywhere in the first place.
However I need to know where exactly you will be coming from before I give you the exact directions.
Returning to the airport would be the biggest mistake you could make especially now with all the construction work for the light rail line going to the airport.

Thanks, Roberto da Firenze - that's what I wanted to hear! We'll most likely be coming from the Montepulciano area, though I'm not sure what detours we'll take between Montepulciano and Florence (if you have recommendations on places to stop, we'll take them!).

Exit the A1 at FIRENZE IMPRUNETA
Pay toll, then follow directions to Florence (Firenze) city center.
After Galluzzo, on the Via Senese, when you are at the Due Strade, follow this route (make sure you turn right on Via del Gelsomino)
