One stop layover in Munich, this is where we will claim VAT correct. not at Milan airport. The stop before we depart to Canada. The layover option is either 1.5 hr vs 5 hr. I think I would pick the latter, remaining time just wandering in the airport. Is there many stores for shopping or restaurant ?

I forget what time of year you are going. Keep in mind it is a popular weekend destination and there is a city of 3 million people just an hour away.
