Resturaunt Recommendations for Rome and Sorrento

Hello all! My group leaves for Rome in just over 2 weeks. We are looking for some must-go-to restaurant recommendations for Rome. We are staying at Hotel Isa.

We then leave to stay in Sorrento for 5 days, we would also love any recommendations for that as well. We are staying at Settimo Cielo.

Thank you for everything!

We loved AZZ! Italian Tavern in Sorrento. If you go late they stop taking you in by 8:30 to 9 PM

We had to wait in line.

We liked Naima Lounge Bar (great Caprese), Blu Water next door, Bar Gelateria Il Duomo on Corso Italia (the baba was so so good), and Syrenuse all in Sorrento.

For Rome, there was this random place called Bibo, near the big monument and it was unexpectedly tasty. There's a great gelato place on a side street near the Pantheon that is really good, they put a small cracker like cookie on the gelato.

My must visit in Rome is Osteria da Mario located between Piazza Navona and the spanish steps. I haven’t been since 2016, but I know they are still open because I see them post regularly on Facebook. Love the amatriciana and the roman chicken. Sure hope they aren’t closed for holiday when I return in August

Our favorites in Sorrento...

Ristorante Pizzeria Sant'Antonino
Via Santa Maria delle Grazie, 6 (Piazza Sant'Antonino)

Da Gigino, Via degli Archi, 15 (Sorrento Old Town)

Il Leone Rosso, Via Marziale, 25 (just east of Piazza Tasso)

O'Parrucchiano La Favorita, Corso Italia, 71 (just west of Piazza Tasso)

Trattoria Da Emilia, Marina Grande

We’ve enjoyed several good meals at Alessio near the Roma Termini Stazione. For Sorrento, I second Mont’s choice of Trattoria Da Emilia in Marina Grande. Buon appetito!

We loved Hotel Isa when we stayed there last November. The Prati area has lots of great restaurants and they are less touristy. Sorpasso and Il Matriciano were 2 we enjoyed. Gelaterio dei Gracchi has delicious gelato and the Mercato Trionfale is worth a visit. Bonci pizzeria is famous and their potato pizza is divine but the lineups have gotten crazy.

AZZ is a must - the food is amazing and the family that owns it was so friendly! We went back a second time!
