Can you give me recommendations for restaurants for lunch near the Vatican? We plan to spend the day there, going to St. Peter's first, then going to lunch. My understanding is that the cafeteria inside Vatican city is horrible.
Piacere Molise...........two blocks behind Hotel Alimandi.
Look it up on Trip Advisor. My FAVORITE ever in Rome, notwithstanding its location. Be sure to see if it's open for lunch!
We like Vito e Dina. Vito is a classic Italian character, actually used to work in the US for a short time I believe. Food is good, not too pricey (for Rome).
The cafeteria inside the Vatican museums is horrible, but there's an outdoor restaurant in the courtyard on the museum grounds that is very good, and it's a great break between visiting the various museums.
