We'll be visiting Rome for three days in late April and early May. What restaurants would anyone recommend within walking distance (400 meters) of the Repubblica Metro? We're staying at the Aberdeen Hotel (recommended on the RS Forum). While on the subject of food, do any of the National Roman Museum venues have a cafe on site for lunch?
We also have stayed at the Aberdeen. Two restaurants within walking distance that we enjoyed were:
La Locanda di Bacco : https://www.lalocandadibacco.com/ and Ristorante la Pentolaccia : http://www.lapentolaccia-restaurant.it/. For gelato, there is Come il Latte : Via Silvio Spaventa, 24/26. For an aperitivo or light meal nearby, we have also been to Eataly on Piazza Repubblica.
Buon viaggio!
Eatly at Piazza Repubblica has new owners and is now called Officine Italia. It's the same concept--a gourmet food shop that also has a restaurant. I ate there a few months ago and they have tables outside right under the arcade. Great pizza and wonderful atmosphere..
When staying at Hotel Aberdeen, I often eat at Ristorante Da Giovanni. It's not fancy, but they serve tasty traditional Roman dishes at good prices. It's along the way to the 2 restaurants mentioned above, maybe 100 meters before you reach them.
