Looking for a good restaurant with a view of the Grand Canal in Venice. Will be traveling in early May 22.
There are four in a row on the Campo San Giacomo, near Rialto: Bancogiro, Al Pesador, Vergnano and Naranzaria. A bit touristy, but great Canal views (see here: https://www.google.ca/maps/@45.4387762,12.3357873,3a,90y,355.35h,88.75t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1skOZ18ykeg1DsJbIpURtGsw!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DkOZ18ykeg1DsJbIpURtGsw%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D161.09818%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i13312!8i6656?hl=en)
Bar Foscarini (Dorsoduro) next to the Accademia Bridge has a stunning view of the Grand Canal. It was fine for a simple Pizza lunch and an Aperol Spritz. We stopped after visiting the Guggenheim Collection, just 5 minutes away. https://foursquare.com/v/bar-foscarini/4c113ca1d41e76b0020e310d
We had dinner one night at the Hotel Bauer right on the canal. The view was gorgeous, make reservations. You look at the Basilica di Santa Maria.
I want a good place to eat in New York overlooking Times Square.
No.
Good place vs Times Sq/Grand Canal.
You can have one or the other, not both.

Case closed. When you got it, you got it.
This is a real trattoria, it's not on the Canal Grande and they cook for locals: Trattoria Da’a Marisa in Fondamenta S. Giobbe, 652. Menu is fixed.
Close to the Rialto Bridge: Antico Calice Venezia. Calle dei Stagneri O de la Fava, 5229. Still a trattoria, but the cuisine may be a little easier for tourists.
Tiny, hidden. My favourite. Osteria al Cicheto; Calle de la Misericordia. When Mom finally retires and a real cook takes over...

I disagree. Our meal at the Hotel Bauer was delicious.
Ok Lulu, you are right, it should be:
You can have one or the other, not both. With the relevant exception of hotel restaurants who can boast a Michelin-starred chef.
